RaftProt Database V2

Mammalian Lipid Raft Proteome Database

Examples

Lipid rafts, or membrane microdomains, glycosphingolipid-enriched membranes (GEM), are dynamic lateral membrane microdomains that regulate a diverse range of cellular functions. RaftProt is a searchable database of proteins published in mammalian lipid raft proteomics studies. To enable data mining, each protein entry has been mapped to UniProt, UniRef and gene IDs.
All entries are annotated with Experimental Evidence Level based on the following criteria:
Reported identification by 2 or more biochemical isolation methods
Down-regulated in 2 or more raft-perturbation experiments
Both of the above
Proteins which have been reported in lipid raft proteomics studies using a single type of extraction method without additional validation.
